Air power

Air power became an important but uneven component of the late Forever War. Fighters, dive bombers and frontline bombers existed in substantial numbers, while strategic aviation remained limited by failed missions, navigation and cost.

Human aviation

National air arms developed primarily around front-line support. Delta integrated aircraft closely with motorised columns, reconnaissance, communications and casualty evacuation rather than treating them as a separate prestige force.

Aelven aviation

Aelven pilots frequently used suicide attacks, an extension of the curse and no-step-back doctrine. Captured or copied human designs were maintained with limited innovation.

Strategic bombing

Several strategic bombers were built, but a failed large mission caused most to be withdrawn or restricted to front-line regions. The exact incident remains underdeveloped.

Post-Cataclysm

Aircraft became difficult to sustain once fuel refining, parts, trained ground crews and runways fragmented. Surviving planes could nevertheless dominate regions unable to replace them, as shown in Dead Grass.
