TitleSummary
Aelven
aelven
Aelven, ordinarily called elves, are one of the five mortal peoples and bear the burden of Memory. They live substantially longer than humans and excel at preserving, reproducing and refining existing knowledge, but show comparatively little creative variation.
Aelven war society
elven-war-society
Aelven war society is the collective term used by outsiders for the cursed Aelven states and institutions that conducted the Forever War. It should not be mistaken for one culturally uniform empire: internal governments and politics survived, but the curse gave every major institution the same ultimate objective.
Air power
air-power
Air power became an important but uneven component of the late Forever War. Fighters, dive bombers and frontline bombers existed in substantial numbers, while strategic aviation remained limited by failed missions, navigation and cost.
Allied Crowns

dark-forest
The Dark Forest was a predominantly Drywid region surrounding the Crack of Life in the western continent.
Dark Forest Wars
dark-forest-wars
The Dark Forest Wars were approximately two centuries of conflict between cursed Aelven forces and the Drywid societies of the Dark Forest. The wars began when elven pursuit followed refugees into the forest and became the principal reason the early eastern human settlements received time to consolidate.
Dawn Dominion
dawn-dominion
The Dawn Dominion, previously called Aelvara in some notes, is a hidden mixed state in the southeast of the eastern continent. It preserves Dvergr, Dires, Drywid, humans and uncursed Aelven in proportions almost opposite to the outside world and retains magic and cosmological knowledge lost during the Forever War.
Delta Armed Forces
delta-armed-forces
The Delta Armed Forces DAF were the stateless military organisation created from Delta Security after Operation Arrowhead in 608 AFK. They became the dominant force of the final Forever War campaigns and the institutional core of the Omega Alliance.
Delta Security
delta-security
Delta Security was the private military company founded by Tarralik in 600 AFK to retake Uarayania, end the Forever War and make Dire exclusion from military and political life impossible to sustain.
Dires
dires
Dires are one of the five mortal peoples and bear the burden of Emotion, traditionally called the Heat of the Heart. They consist of many distinct terrestrial animal peoples rather than one body type. Anthro is an outsider and often derogatory label.
Drywid

Dvergr
dvergr
Dvergr are one of the five mortal peoples and bear the burden of Pressure. They are a broad, physically strong people associated with underground engineering, ordered routine and the earliest systematic study of Lodestone. The outsider word dwarf is derogatory and misleading: Dvergr are only moderately shorter than humans.

Enchanting
enchanting
Enchanting is the practice of storing a magical tune in an object so that it can repeat a limited effect without continuous casting. The most effective enchanted objects use Lodestone or Uclidium, materials able to hold coherent field patterns far longer than ordinary matter.
Fall of the Five Kings
fall-of-five-kings
The Fall of the Five Kings was the destruction of the Noble Era political order in 0 AFK. A multi-people rebellion led by Gelena Andreassen reached the Castle of the Kings, where the five rulers died, disappeared or transformed. Gwildor's final curse immediately turned Aelven forces against their former allies and began the Forever War.
Five Kings
five-kings
The Five Kings were the immortal rulers appointed over Mankin, Aelven, Dvergr, Dires and Drywid during the Noble Era. They began as stabilising anchors after the violence of the Mortal Era, but their permanence allowed burden failure and institutional self-preservation to accumulate without the correction of succession or death.
Forever War
forever-war
The Forever War was the 622-year conflict that began when Gwildor's curse turned Aelven forces against their former allies during the Fall of the Five Kings. It displaced most surviving Mankin to the eastern continent, destroyed or isolated the other peoples and became the organising principle of modern Uclean states.
Form cults
form-cults
Form cults were obscure Mortal Era religious movements that attempted to reach the Plane of Forms and practise True Magic. Their surviving traces are fragmentary, and it is impossible to determine whether those traces describe the original reality or a history already rewritten by successful cultists.

The Gold Sun and Red Sun are the close binary stars orbited by Uclea. The larger yellow-white primary supplies most visible light; the smaller red dwarf crosses in front of it every thirty sols as seen from the planet, creating the cycle used by the solar calendar and Krasnarusian solar religion.

It occurred during the Forgetting and was shaped from the beginning by the demands of the Forever War.
Iota Limit
iota-limit
The Iota Limit is the progressive loss of conscious integration experienced by mortals who travel too far from Uclea without sufficient Lodestone anchoring. It appears in the successful Iota alternate history and is not an ordinary radiation or life-support problem.
Iota programme
operation-iota
The Iota programme was DAF's attempt to develop sustained spaceflight. In the main timeline it failed before Uclea became a spacefaring civilisation; in the Iota alternate history it discovers that mortal consciousness weakens with distance from Ūrkléan.
Kaz
kaz
Kaz is the universe-being associated with the Kazean Realm and the entity remembered by the Five Kings as the Great Master. He exists at a higher scale than Ūrkléan and granted the Kings their longevity and desiring powers. Almost no mortal society knows that he exists, and even Ūrkléan understands him only imperfectly.
Kestrels

Lunar calendar
lunar-calendar
The lunar calendar is the inherited Imperial, Callandorian, Duchian and broadly Allied-Crowns system of civil time. It divides the 360-sol year into ten eidols of thirty-six sols, each containing six sixdays.
Magic
magic
Magic is the deliberate use of a mortal soul to alter the probability of physically possible processes. It is best understood as tuning rather than command: a caster organises consciousness into a learned pattern, the soul couples that pattern into the field of Ūrkléan, and a compatible material transition becomes easier than its alternatives.
Mankin

Operation Kappa
operation-kappa
Operation Kappa was a classified DAF research programme that entered a domain associated with the Memory Crack. Publicly it belonged to the late-war family of ambitious failed projects; surviving evidence suggests it encountered a reality in which remembered places resist change.

Forms such as consciousness, identity, change, number and matter are expressed incompletely in lower realities through countless examples, relationships and exceptions.
Post-Cataclysm period
post-cataclysm
The Post-Cataclysm period is the open-ended era after 634 AFK in which survivors inhabit the ruins of industrial civilisation while magic returns through local necessity. There is no fixed canonical present day; different tales may occur decades or centuries after the collapse.

The Five Burdens
five-burdens
The Five Burdens are malformed components of Ūrkléan's Memory, Change, Emotion, Nature and Pressure. They leak from five permanent cracks in his Lodestone body. Mortals do not receive these functions as beneficial gifts; their souls counter the damaged resonance and store its physical cost in flesh.
The Forgetting
forgetting

He shaped the world's mountains, oceans, atmosphere and fertile soils through geological movement, but cannot create matter from nothing or destroy it absolutely. Mortal religion often treats him as a supreme god; author-level cosmology places him beneat
