Ordinal dating

Ordinal dating is the year-day system preferred by Delta and later Omega. A date is written as the year followed by the ordinal sol of that year, avoiding national and religious period names.

Format

The standard form is YEAR-SOL ERA. Thus 612-143 AFK denotes the 143rd sol of 612 AFK. Because every major calendar uses the same 360-sol astronomical year, conversion does not require approximation.

Military use

Delta adopts ordinal dates for orders, logistics, aviation and communications. The notation strips away disagreement between Allied-Crowns eidols and Krasnarusian solths and sorts naturally in technical systems.

Political meaning

The supposedly neutral system expresses Delta's larger project: replacing inherited national structures with one interoperable military order. Allied-Crowns forces sometimes use the format operationally while retaining eidol names in ceremonies and public communication.
