Stiletto Mk.I

The Stiletto Mk.I was Delta Security's first tank: a 34-ton riveted medium vehicle designed for rapid manoeuvre, fortified positions and human armoured opposition rather than solely for fighting Aelven infantry.

Design

An 800-horsepower engine gave the vehicle exceptional mobility for its weight. The turret and straight frontal plates reached about 150 millimetres, with 100-millimetre cheeks and slopes and much thinner sides, roof and floor.

Armament

Its approximately three-metre 54-millimetre gun achieved nearly 1,200 metres per second and around 180 millimetres of close-range steel penetration. The weapon was intended to defeat bunkers, gun mounts and tanks through velocity rather than shell size.

Niaku trials

The tank was tested in the Niakupubliczstani Civil War against Krasnarusian steel, shaped charges and fortified positions. The threat of shaped charges drove Delta toward composite and NERA-style protection by about 608 AFK.

Production

The programme began jointly with Krasnarusian industry. Early vehicles were built in Krasnarusian and Soleraean factories and moved through Larolarian, Soleraean and Maritimian rail networks. Later DAF designs became more independent, but the loss of Krasnarus still removed most high-grade armour steel.
