Niakupubliczstani Civil War
The Niakupubliczstani Civil War began in 573 AFK and divided Niakupubliczstan between a Duchian-backed northern monarchy or dictatorship and a Krasnarus-backed southern socialist uprising. It became the main proxy conflict of the eastern ideological struggle and remained unresolved when the Great Cataclysm destroyed the wider political order.
Origins
Niakupubliczstan was a general state containing several regions, languages and political traditions rather than a single consolidated nation. Its northern administration depended heavily on Duchian money and military support, while southern labour and republican movements looked toward Krasnarus.
Foreign intervention
Krasnarus supplied training, arms and logistical support to the socialist uprising. Duchia intervened to preserve the monarchy and prevent a socialist government directly on its border. Both described their role as assistance to legitimate Niaku forces while using the country to test doctrine and maintain regional influence.
Terrain and warfare
The warm, hilly and sandy landscape made armoured movement and supply difficult. Fronts fragmented around roads, valleys and fortified settlements. Human-on-human warfare accelerated anti-tank weapons, shaped charges, armour protection and aircraft coordination far faster than the older conflict with Aelven armies.
Delta involvement
Delta Security trialled the Stiletto Mk.I against Krasnarusian armour, shaped charges and steel fortifications. This collaboration was politically awkward: early Stilettos depended partly on Krasnarusian production even as Delta operated in a war sustained by both great powers.
Legacy
The civil war explains Niakupubliczstan's late-war fragmentation and why no faction could present itself as a neutral national authority. The Cataclysm interrupted rather than resolved the conflict.
