Sergei

Sergei was a senior DAF officer and the principal founding figure of the Kestrel movement. He commanded forces during Operation Ballista before turning against the post-war institution he had helped bring to victory.

DAF career

Sergei was regarded as one of DAF's most capable officers. During Ballista he led the retaking of forest and river-delta territory in former @Velstrum. His campaign showed both the genuine competence of Delta and the coercive machinery later used by Omega.

Break with Omega

After victory he signed for release and laid down his weapons. Authorities told him the job was not done and offered a return to service or labour camp. He fled toward Krasnarus, but the government deported him to avoid provoking Omega.

Kestrel movement

Years in camps, prisons and institutions exposed the system's internal violence. Sergei escaped with a group who described themselves as free birds but not finished. They built networks of agitation, education and resistance that became the Kestrels.

Zeevaardersdam

Sergei eventually led an army into Omega's stronghold. His precise role in Tarralik's capture and execution remains open, as does whether the relationship deliberately mirrors Halindor and Gwildor.
