Anchorstone

Anchorstone is the Iotan engineering name for Lodestone carried away from Uclea to preserve mortal consciousness. It supplies a local coherent reference when distance weakens the soul's connection to Ūrkléan.

Vaults

Spacecraft and settlements build protected anchorvaults around the material. A vault is the metaphysical heart of a vessel rather than decoration or ordinary shielding.

Depletion

Anchorstone outside Uclea has an operational half-life because attached souls deposit burden and phase defects into a finite coherent mass. Depletion depends on quality, crew count, distance and spell use.

Anchormetal

Refined Uclidium is called anchormetal. It provides much stronger anchoring per kilogram but is harder to shape and dangerous when fractured or inhaled.
