Five Kings
The Five Kings were the immortal rulers appointed over Mankin, Aelven, Dvergr, Dires and Drywid during the Noble Era. They began as stabilising anchors after the violence of the Mortal Era, but their permanence allowed burden failure and institutional self-preservation to accumulate without the correction of succession or death.
Members
The Kings were Dagmar of Mankin, Gwildor of Aelven, Arawn of Dvergr, Hildegard of Dires and Erell of Drywid. Each held a spark of Kaz-granted power and a political role associated with one of Ūrkléan's functions.
Government
The Five Kings' realm centred on the @@[Imperial Core](entry:8f321e82-fc52-5e7a-9b8a-ce12f648ecf0) and Castle of the Kings. The order joined multiple peoples through roads, administration, ritual and common security. The precise constitution varied across its 1,796 years and should not be imagined as one unchanging central bureaucracy.
Decline
Dagmar's Change became expansion without limit; Gwildor's Memory became frozen perfection; Arawn's Pressure became intolerable stress; Hildegard's Emotion became fear; Erell's Nature became feral merger. Their courts increasingly extracted resources to preserve command rather than maintain the balance for which they had been established.
Fall
Gelena Andreassen united a multi-people rebellion against them. The Kings created Orcnea armies in response. Their defeat in 0 AFK ended the Noble Era, but Gwildor's final curse transformed the victory into the Forever War.
